Tips for your Commercial Immersion Blender

Commercial blenders are unique due to their high capacity of blending power. A standard commercial blender usually has a long cord for mobility. It also usually has interchangeable sticks to make this blender more customizable.

Here are some tips and tricks in operating immersion blenders. Any chef will tell you that improper use of an immersion blender can lead to huge messes and sometimes even injury.

Tip 1. Start Slow and Speed Up

Make sure to use the lowest speed when you start to blend. This avoids the mess of potentially hot liquids splattering in your kitchen. Increase speed gradually as you blend.

Tip 2. Hold at a Slight Angle

High-powered immersion blenders submerged in liquid can create suction while operating. Hold your stick blender at a slight angle to help break up suction created, but not splatter your wall with liquid – this will make it easier to move around while blending.

Tip 3. Blend from Bottom Up

Don’t start blending at the top of your pot of liquid. Instead, have your blender start at the bottom of the container and work your way up. Working this way will help eliminate splatter and give a smoother blend.

Tip 4. Use Circular Motion

Move the stick in a circular motion to get even distribution in the liquid. Using circular motion will ensure every ingredient gets blended with the same consistency.

Tip 5. Cool Hot Liquids

Allow your hot liquids to cool for a period before blending. If you choose to blend in the original cooking container, cooling the liquid before blending will help prevent burns.

It’s important to keep these tips in mind so that you can get the best use out of your blender.
